1962 Old 98, Colorado Springs

Back in the day you'd never have seen an Olds 98 with steelies and hubcaps. Would have been wheel covers and whitewalls. I like this look better, though I remember when my father ordered a '68 Chrysler Newport Custom with hubcaps and blackwalls, I cringed--thought it looked like a stripper. We had a '62 Pontiac that was painted out of the same tan as this Olds---kind of tan/beige.
This is just about my favorite era for American cars---1960-63. Lean and clean, sort of.

  1. Nice find. Kind ofamazing that the typographical treatment of "Ninety Eight" is differently on the front, sides, and rear!
