Marfa to Maine: 1975 GMC Sierra Grande

Sunday afternoon, bright, West Texas winter day. H and I were cruising down San Antonio Street when we saw the truck on Bee Pierce's lot. It was the only vehicle for sale, except an old fire truck. Next morning--bright cold--after dropping off H at school I stopped by the lot. Took the truck out for a drive. Bought it. It was shipped up to Maine that spring, and it spends winters in the barn here. I'm the 2nd owner, or 3rd, if you count Bee Pierce. Truck was originally bought from Casner Motors in Marfa, the GM dealership, which is where the city offices are now.

Master cylinder failed this week. Pedal to the floor. Not a good feeling. Pretty easy to replace though. All the parts on this truck are pretty easy to find, though it's no use looking for junkyard parts in New England--anything old enough is inevitably in a state beyond rust.
