1939 Chevrolet 1-ton; 1960 Ford F100

from Alex Emond in south Saskatchewan:
"I was out 'east' last week enjoying the late , hesitant arrival of spring . I was tripping over stunning examples of vintage trucks as I toured around a few neighbouring towns. I hadn't seen the Cadillac Fire Truck before . It runs like a dream, not that you'd want to go faster than a slow Dalmation . It tipped over on its side once , trying to deal with a grass fire. It's a 1939 model, Chevrolet One Ton. It blows my mind . I spent part of a morning sketching the beast .
This 1960 ( guessing ) Ford F100 truck was on its way to B.C. It should be on its way to my driveway. Looks to be in remarkable shape and it is very stylish , yet utilitarian."--AE
